Tips for moving into a third floor apartment?
Miss Mary asked:
My boyfriend and I are currently renting a house but are soon moving into a third floor apartment. neither of us have ever lived in an apartment and are not quite sure what to expect. we also have a lot of furniture and not very much moving help. any tips on how to make moving and apartment living easier? Thanks!! :]
hiring moving help would be ideal but we're on a VERY tight budget :[

GET SOME HELP. For real. I lived in a 3rd floor apartment for a few months and my boyfriend and I moved all my stuff up and it was so exhausting! Try to get some family or friends to help you move.

Rent, borrow, or buy a dolly. We bought one and it helped bring big packages upstairs as well. We also got a tall basket to tie to it to bring up groceries. This will help with the stairs and make sure that you have a lot of friends help. I have moved and lived in many apartments. The biggest concern is the staircase. You may want to measure the staircase and your larger items (like sofa and bed). Make sure that they can fit and if you have turns, make sure that they can make the turn. Good luck!

Rent some serious dollys and go down to Home Depot. There should be guys just standing around the parking lot.
They work for about $10 an hour, cash. Hire 3-4 of them, they will be worth every dime.

if you can't afford to hire movers then it's good reason to simplify living styles and don't take so much
